Challenge
To celebrate Delta’s 100th anniversary, the Delta Flight Museum undertook a major refurbishment. A key centerpiece of this reopening was a massive, 100-foot mural designed to elevate the visual and spatial experience of the room. The primary challenge was balancing the rich historical legacy of Delta with modern interactive storytelling, all while navigating a tight creative window.

Strategy
As the Product Manager, my responsibility was to create alignment between the museum’s vision and the creative team’s execution. Rather than forcing a single concept from the start, we structured our process around rapid exploration by tasking multiple designers to generate a wide range of ideas before strategically narrowing them down through client feedback. To keep the project anchored, we adhered to the established client’s theme, Lifted by Humanity, as the creative North Star. I then back-solved our timeline from a rigid 3-week sprint, building structured design reviews to ensure rapid iteration without missing key milestones.

Execution
We kicked off the project with an alignment call with the museum’s leadership, followed immediately by an on-site visit to analyze the physical space, study Delta’s corporate culture, and understand the precise spatial constraints of the wall. From there, we ran an intensive design sprint. I served as the primary liaison, translating stakeholder feedback into clear, actionable direction for the design team to ensure every draft stayed within creative and technical guardrails. After presenting initial concepts to the museum team, we synthesized their input into a final presentation just one week later.

Impact
The project culminated in a striking 13 ft. tall by 99 ft. wide digital mural titled Keep Climbing, led by Jennifer Wee. Beyond visual storytelling, we incorporated an interactive component allowing visitors to align their ticket letters with the mural for custom photo opportunities, seamlessly bridging physical design with visitor engagement.
Reflection
Working under a 3-week constraint reinforced the importance of setting non-negotiable guardrails early. By managing momentum through structured reviews rather than micromanaging creative output, we delivered a large-scale experience on time without diluting the artistic vision.
